Dos mas semanas...

It is so crazy that I am only here for a little more than two weeks now!  It will be very sad to leave, but I am excited for starting my new job in Arizona.  I leave Honduras on June 14th and head to Colorado with Kiley until the 19th.  I'll go to AZ for a few days, then head to MI on the 23rd until the 1st with my family, and then school stuff begins July 2nd for new hires.  WOW! I feel as though I don't really get any kind of a break, but I am still very excited for it all!

Last Sunday after house church Louis took us on an adventure on his property, which was beautiful!  We hiked a bit to a small but beautiful waterfall, and then we climb through a ton of caves that are also on his property!  It was a beautiful morning we all spent together.

Kiley, Stacey and I also went to the dentist last week to get our teeth cleaned.  I'd like to say I don't have any cavities, but I can't, ha! But it definitely felt good to have a cleaning and the doctor did very good!

We finished our Spanish tutoring with Lordes last week, so we took her out to dinner last week at a nice restaurant.  While I still wish my Spanish was a lot better than it is, I do know I have improved and I have enjoyed spending the time with Lordes.

As many of you know, I went to Africa again last December for a medical mission trip to Sierra Leone.  While I was there I was able to assist in two births, and I also spent a lot of time in different areas of the hospital.  I have always loved babies, and that time in Africa was very special to me and it opened my eyes a lot.  Since having done that there, I have wanted to get a better look at the hospital here, to see the differences and more.   Stacey's roommate Melissa is interning at the hospital in Gracias, and I asked her if I would be able to come in with her one evening and spend time with her in the hospital.  She got permission for me, and Kiley decided to come along, and we were able to go with her to work the other night.  The hospital was a lot cleaner than the one I worked at in Africa, but there were also a lot of similarities.  I got to hold a baby that was born a few hours before we arrived at the hospital; pure joy.  We also helped welcome a new beautiful baby boy into the world; God is so good!

As you can see a lot of exciting things have been going on within the last month here.  I am doing my best to enjoy my last weeks here, remaining in the moments here even though I am excited for all that is to come.  God is continuing to challenge me lately, and I am doing my best to embrace each trial he gives me to refine my faith in Him.  I am strongly leaning into Him for guidance and encouragement, and this verse has been sticking out to me lately. Maybe it's one that will inspire and encourage you now too.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
